One of the top prospects in the Central Ohio area for the 2013 class is Pataskala (Ohio) Licking Heights product Ronnie Dawson. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker has been making waves since his freshman year and is coming off a big sophomore season in which he was named first team all-district. Dawson was one of the top prospects on hand at Sunday's Ohio State one-day senior camp.



"I think I did good overall," said Dawson. "I had two interceptions today so I did pretty good, I was locking everybody up. I just have to keep working harder and stuff like this will make me better for the future."



Dawson had been to the Ohio State facility before but this was his first time actually working out at the facility and he was impressed.



"This was the first time actually working out in there and I really liked the facility," he said.



Ohio State is well aware of Dawson and some other big name programs are also showing some early interest in the tough linebacker.



"Cincinnati is looking at me, Wisconsin and Oregon are sending me stuff, I've got a lot of schools that I'm looking at," he said. "I don't really have any favorite schools right now."



Dawson has been a jack-of-all trades for Licking Heights, playing running back, tight end, and linebacker. As a junior, Dawson is hoping to continue his progress and he has set some major goals for himself.



"I have some pretty big season goals," Dawson said. "I want to get first team all-state this year and I want to have over 150 tackles. I'll be playing everywhere this year. I'll be playing running back, receiver, and linebacker."



Dawson isn't the only talented rising junior on the Licking Heights squad as the Hornets have one of the better junior classes in the Columbus area, headlined by Dawson, quarterback Darius Strickland, and running back A.J. Mitchell.



"We always call ourselves the 'Fab 5'," Dawson joked. "We have five juniors coming up and we're trying to lead this team and we're trying to get to the playoffs and push each other to get better."
