Kansas City OL headed to K-State
Peculiar (Mo.) Raymore-Peculiar offensive lineman Clyde Aufner received his first scholarship offer in February and the all-state selection just needed an unofficial visit to Manhattan to watch the Wildcats go through spring practices before he knew where he wanted to continue his football career.
"I've been looking at them for a couple of months," the 6-foot-7, 255-pound Aufner said. "They offered me a scholarship about then. I went up to watch them practice over the weekend and got to watch the practice.
"I hadn't thought much about K-State until Coach (Ron) Prince got to going there. I knew about them, but I hadn't given it a lot of thought about whether I was going there. I liked the enthusiasm and decided I wanted to be part of that."
