The good: Harris combines very good speed and power, making him effective in both run and pass defense. He is an active defender who reads the play quickly, takes on blockers well and plays with leverage, allowing him to stays alive moving through trash to make tackles. He is best stuffing the inside run where his physical talent allows him to fill the hole, shed blocks and finish. He is a big hitter as a tackler with strong hands to fight off blockers consistently well. In pass coverage, he gets good drops and has some change of direction skills and speed to cover backs and tight ends The bad: Harris' initial reaction is slower than desired. Despite his fine production, he did not make many big plays with only three sacks and one interception over his career. He is still inexperienced in pass coverage and not ready to be an every down defender. Early in his career he missed time annually due to injuries but proved durable over his final two years. The skinny: Athletic, versatile linebacker with the talent to start at a few positions in a pro base defense, including inside in a 3-4 set. Harris can be a special-teams performer right away and is quickly rising into the top 100.
