Dawgs set pecking order for Summer

With spring practice in the
books and fall camp looming in the not to distant future, the
Georgia Bulldogs released their post-spring depth chart Monday
evening. As the Bulldogs finish up their finals and begin
preparing for summer workouts, some positions remain open for
competition while others were locked up this spring.

Starting at the top, sophomore
quarterback Matthew Stafford, Joe Cox, and
Blake Barnes are a respectable trio of quarterbacks with
Stafford and Cox firmly on top. Stafford is clearly the top dog
and Cox is as good a backup as any coach could desire.

At tailback, the Bulldogs are
waiting to see who will backup
Kregg Lumpkin next fall.
In the mix are Knowshon Moreno, Thomas Brown,
and Jason Johnson. Moreno has the early edge at number
two because Brown is recovering for a torn ACL and may take
awhile to get up to full speed. Moreno's early performance in
camp could influence how much playing time he gets next fall and
how quickly they work Brown back into the rotation. Johnson who
had a great spring will serve as an insurance policy should
someone go down.
