Gaither leaves post as WR coach

Less than two months after accepting the position as Temple's wide receivers coach, Keith Gaither has left the program, OwlScoop.com has learned.

Per multiple sources, Gaither, who came to Temple after two seasons of coaching Army's wide receivers, is no longer on new Temple coach Geoff Collins' staff. While an official announcement has yet to be made, sources also stated that Gaither is likely to accept a similar position on Scottie Montgomery's staff at fellow American Athletic Conference school East Carolina.

Gaither previously spent a decade coaching in the state of North Carolina with stops at Thomasville City Schools, Winston-Salem State and Elon. Gaither followed Pete Lembo from Elon to Ball State before coaching at Army.

Collins will now be tasked with finding a coach for a wide receivers group that is set to return all of its players from last season and is led by a productive trio in Ventell Bryant, Keith Kirkwood and Adonis Jennings. The group of wide receivers helped the 2016 Temple team set a program record for points scored and finish with 3,324 passing yards.
